NEW DELHI: Faced with mounting casualties in counter-insurgency operations in Kashmir and the North-East, the Army is now actively scouting around for lightweight and sturdier helmets for soldiers.In J&K alone, around 1,500 soldiers have been killed and over 3,000 injured ''due to terrorist action'' since January 2000. The ''kill ratio'', of course, remains in the Army's favour, with four to five terrorists being killed for every soldier.
